About LandedNZ
Last updated 1 November 2026
LandedNZ is a step-by-step settling-in roadmap for New Zealand, checked against official sources. Ask about any task and get answers cited from official New Zealand sites.
What LandedNZ does
You answer five questions: your visa, where you will live, who is moving with you, your work and your arrival date. LandedNZ turns them into the tasks for your first months, in the order to do them, such as getting your IRD number, opening a bank account and enrolling with a GP.
Some tasks open only after an earlier one is done. You can ask about any task, and the answer reads your roadmap and cites the official page it used.
To see your own roadmap, answer the five questions.
Who it is for
People moving to New Zealand to live and work, on visas such as:
- the Accredited Employer Work Visa
- a residence visa
- a partner work visa
- a post-study work visa
- a working holiday visa
Roadmaps include local steps for Auckland, the Wellington region and Greater Christchurch, and work for the rest of New Zealand.
How the content is checked
- Every task comes from a New Zealand government website or the law itself.
- Each task shows the source it was checked against and the date it was last checked.
- A person reads every version of a task, one for each mix of answers, and approves it before it goes live.
- The assistant cites only official New Zealand sites.
What LandedNZ is not
LandedNZ is general information, not legal, immigration or tax advice. It is independent and not part of any government agency.
Who runs it
LandedNZ is built and run by one person.
LandedNZ grew out of my own family's move to Auckland. The information we needed was spread across many sources, and they didn't always agree. I built LandedNZ to bring it together into one clear, reliable path.
